Percussion History and Literature

Course Description
Percussion History and Literature is an upper division/graduate level course. It is a comprehensive overview of the history and literature of percussion instruments from the early influence of Janissary Music to the 21st Century. There are six main modules to the course: Background Information, Instrument Histories, Orchestral Literature, Chamber Literature, Percussion Ensemble Literature, and Solo Percussion Literature.

REGISTRATION

New Students:

Step One: Complete the Non-Degree Application

You must be admitted to the University before you can take this course. You may download the admission application and submit it with your registration form:

  1. Undergraduate Domestic Application or Undergraduate International Application
  2. Graduate Application

There is a $50 application fee for Arizona residents and a $65 application fee for non-residents. Undergraduates must mail an original non-degree admission application to our office.


Step Two: Complete the Outreach College Course Registration Form

Course Registration Form (pdf).

Complete the course registration form and mail it along with your non-degree admission application to the address below. Course payment or purchase order must be included with your forms.

Step Three: Mail or Fax all Forms and Payment to UA Outreach College

Once you have completed the UA Admission Application and the Outreach College Course Registration Form and enclosed payment, mail or fax them to them to:

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Drop/Refund Policy:

The UA Outreach College office must be contacted if the student wishes to drop the course.

Last day to drop with a “W” (if passing) and with instructor’s approval:
October 15, 2010

Last day for a refund:
September 3, 2010
